Tutor in Davie, Florida

I am a Junior attending Nova Southeastern University and have been a peer tutor in writing and composition courses since the beginning of this semester. I am looking to expand my tutoring experience and opportunities to younger students and students from other colleges and universities around me. My peers and I believe that tutoring should be comfortable and produce better writers, not better papers..... an International Studies major, I also speak French and have experience and development with students who have learned English as a second language. I have experimented with different tutoring styles and mostly adopted a tutor-directed, but tutoree-led style. It is important to me that my writers feel that all of their final products are still theirs, and not mine. My sessions implement strategies that involve the student and nudge him or her in the right direction, instead of force him or her into a cold pool of literary water.
