Hello! Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My expertise lies in Math for Regents, SAT and SHSAT and Physics. By scoring high on the vigorous SHSAT placement exam, I was able to attend Brooklyn Technical High School. In high school I took the AP BC Calculus exam and received a score of 5. Later, after scoring in the 98th percentile of my SAT Math, I was able to attend NYU School of Engineering and study Mechanical Engineering with minors in Aerospace and Management. My experience in Engineering meshed with a Liberal Arts Environment of NYU has allowed me to gain an interesting perspective on how math and physics relate to the real world. This allows me to teach and simplify challenging math and physics subjects so students with no interest in the subject areas. Although I am new to WyzAnt, I have successfully tutored students, for the last 5 years, from Brooklyn Tech, Midwood High School, Staten Island Tech, LaGuardia High School, Fort Hamilton High School, PolyPrep Middle School, Mark Twain Middle School and many more. I enjoy mentoring my students and providing them the resources to become the next generation of successful scholars! Often my students will tell me that I am very articulate and patient, yet efficient with the time. Ultimately, I hope that after a few sessions a student will not only have a better understanding of the material, but an appreciation for it as well. Prior to the start of my tutoring sessions I get to know the learning styles and weaknesses of my student. I then get to know the students on a more personal level and see how I can relate Math and Physics questions back to their passions. This allows them to understand why they are learning the material and even help them become passionate about the subject. Throughout the session I rarely just give an answer, in fact, I try to steer the student towards the result. I take pride in providing my students with the best possible experience and making sure that they don't forget what they have learned during the session. Often I will leave the student with an invitation to email/text me the problems that they struggle with and help lay a path towards the answer. On my free time, I enjoy reading books and learning more about my passion for Engineering and automotive design. In addition, I speak Russian fluently as a second language! 4 years of experience in all types of Math Prep ranging from elementary school to Pre college courses.
