Tutor Job in Grass Valley, California

Part time employment opportunity available. Seeking an academic mentor/tutor for freshman High School student to provide one on one private academic coaching weekly. Responsibilities include tutoring in the following subjects: Algebra, Science and English. Managing students' class assignments. Keeping the student engaged, focused and on task. Teaching appropriate and effective study and testing skills and organizational techniques. Guiding student in planning for educational future all while inspiring student in gaining a commitment to learning. Applicants must be a positive role model and have a strong academic history. Must be organized, self motivated, inspirational, honest, confident, creative, problem solving, responsible, caring, and patient. They must have a clear vision for their own future and personal development and an attitude of high achievement integrity and optimism. Communication skills are imperative. A non-smoking individual who is able to pass a drug screening & criminal background check. High school/college students or recent grad's are welcome and encouraged to apply! Sessions will consist of 1-3 hours, 3 times per week. Pay rate is negotiable upon interview, depending on experience level of applicant.
