Tutor in Hopkinton, New Hampshire

I'm an
Individual
The kind of topic I will be tutoring: American Sign Language (ASL) Basic America Sign Language levels one and two (semester one and two) I have decided to start private tutoring for students ranging in age from high school to college level. I am naturally deaf so have grown up using ASL. Additionally, I have taken basic ASL classes at the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA): first and second semester. If you are really interested in using sign language or in becoming an interpreter in the future, this is a requirement for success. If you are really interested in learning ASL, then we can schedule an appointment to meet. I would prefer a meeting location closer to my home, such as a community cafe or a library, possible in Concord. About my education: I received my HS diploma from East High School (EHS) in Anchorage, Alaska. At graduation, I earned the 'UA Scholars Program' four year scholarship to attend UAA. After three years of college as an Art major, I relocated to the New Hampshire area. About myself: I was born deaf and raised in Ellsworth, Maine. I attended a small deaf school for several years in Colorado then transferred to public high school for a more advance education. I was seeking more challenging vocabulary and grammar in English which public schools focus on. With the aid of an interpreter, I first attended Estes Park High school before moving to Anchorage, Alaska where I completed my last two high school years. At East High School, a huge school of over two thousand students and a diverse school with a large ethnic mix of students, I was able to move between hearing and deaf classes. The deaf school was housed within the public high school, giving me what I believe to be the best of both the deaf and hearing worlds. Payment: $25 per hour for private tutor. If you would like, we can arrange for you to bring a friend/classmate too, if they are attending the same class. In this case, the price will decrease to $17 per hour/student for the same tutoring time. Materials you will bring: -Your text book from school or other learning materials you have been using for sign language. -Writing papers for communication because you will be facing a deaf person without talking or voicing. How to contact me: -You will call me through the Sorenson Videophone (Interpreter service for deaf people) -Text -Email
