My name is Marisa and I am currently completing my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a minor in Family Studies. My areas of interest are studying human movement, exercise physiology, behavioural learning strategies, and childhood development.

My teaching style involves breaking down difficult content material into a step-by-step process! I understand what it feels like to struggle with comprehending abstract concepts and where students might experience confusion. I want to provide students with effective study strategies and tips that will lead them to success. :)

This past year, I worked as a behaviour interventionist for children with autism. In this position, I have become familiar with many instructional delivery strategies and learning adaptations. I have extensive experience in teaching a variety of students with different abilities, personalities, and learning styles. I also have over 5 years of experience teaching individuals (all ages) with autism as a recreational sports instructor and support worker. In addition to tutoring, my other past experiences also involve being a university residence advisor, lifeguard/swimming instructor, and martial arts instructor.
