I'm an
Individual
I have been studying Mathematics for the past ten years and I have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Great Honor at Concordia University. I continued to attain a Master of Science in Statistics at the same university. Currently, I am continuing to explore and develop my knowledge in Statistics by working on a Ph.D. at Concordia University. Along with my knowledge in Mathematics and Statistics, I have built up my teaching experiences as a Teaching Assistant at Concordia University: as a tutor and teacher for the past five years. In terms of tutor, I have been tutoring many students, and I have found that they all have one common: they need a simpler and understandable explanation and more examples for any concept, which their teacher could not have enough time to show everything in class. Therefore, for any question they bring up, I always start with a simple and easy version of that question, and when they get the idea I modify the question a bit and a bit until it is back to original question. On the other hand, standing in front of students as a teacher is very different from tutor. Due to time constraint and follow-up schedule, I have experienced that the given time in class is not enough for me to give details and full explanation to every concepts. As a result, I first teach them definitions then explain the concepts in examples. I try to show examples as many as I can, and all the cases which they might encounter. I also encourage them to practice questions in the textbook, and prepare a summary of the materials which will be covered in the next lecture. Besides working at Concordia University, I have been volunteering many times at Dawson College as a tutor for math help sessions, and I have earned lot of positive feedbacks from my students.
