I have always loved helping others because I love to watch the progression of confidence that individuals have when they begin to understand the concepts that they thought they never could. I see tutoring as a different type of mentoring because as a tutor, we're here to use our experiences/knowledge to guide others. I believe that tutors who are open to cultivating relationships with their clients are more successful because they develop an understanding of how their client learns the best. Additionally, tutoring is a learning experience for both the tutor and the client. While the tutor is guiding the client in the right direction, the client is also helping the tutor with interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. I have a passion for academic writing and love helping others who need guidance in writing essays, reviews, articles, book reports, etc. I attended French immersion throughout the entirety of my elementary and high school career: I can help clients who may have trouble with reading and writing French as well as English. Ever since I was young, I developed a love for the visual arts. I attended several different art classes (outside of school and during all of high school). Art is very individualistic and has a lot of creative freedom however there are many different techniques that can be learnt to improve. Throughout my first year of university, I had been a note-taker for several different courses. I pride myself in the way I organize my notes and would love to help others improve their note-taking/study skills.
