Buenos días! My name is Julie Thompson, and I'd like to help you to learn Spanish. My qualifications? I have been a literacy and language instruction volunteer in South America since 1989, in U.S. English, Latin American Spanish and Ecuadorian Quichua. I have also published two projects: "Wanna Go Where?", a guide into planning for a move abroad, and "5 Reasons to NOT Learn a Foreign Language", an essay on overcoming reluctance to learn languages. I have taught over 100 students from several countries, from 7 to 70 years old, from all walks of life and levels of education. If you're willing to faithfully practice 15 minutes a day, do all of your homework, and are prepared to work hard, you'll see results. During our first class, we'll talk about your specific goals and your learning preferences, plus we'll talk about my teaching methods. Please feel free to ask any questions; the only 'dumb' question is the one you didn't ask. Would you be interested in online tutoring? This method would allow for greater flexibility in scheduling. We can use free online video and whiteboard programs. I've used such programs before, and they've worked out very well for me and my online students. I look forward to hearing from you!
