HI! I'm Caleb! I'm a 1st Grade Dual Language Immersion Teacher at San Francisco Unified School District. I love teaching kids! I teach my first graders everything from Reading, Writing, Phonics, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and English. I have 7 years of Spanish tutoring experience with all ability levels. I've helped students with homework assignments in Spanish as well as adults develop a program for work-related language skills. I like establishing a good rapport with my students and sharing what skills I have learned are necessary for acquiring a language. I received my Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and Teaching Certificate through National-Louis University, Chicago in 2012. Before that, I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Michigan in 2008. I also studied Latin American/Spanish Literature at the University of Seville, Spain in 2006-200.... My philosophy of teachings is that students need to be engaged in what they are learning for it to stick and develop a regular routine. Tutors can do this by making the lesson related, relevant, and fun to learn. I teach my students using project-based learning, problem-solving techniques, and multimedia.
