My teaching philosophy can be summed up in a few words, to teach students to be thinkers and not mere reflections of other men's thoughts. I desire to create a love for mathematics, one equation at a time. My passion for students and learning prompted me to leave the traditional classroom to help others as well as homeschool my own three children. I have over 15 years of tutoring and teaching experience and an Advanced Placement Calculus AB and BC Certificate from the College Board and an Effective Online Teaching Certificate from Georgia Virtual School. In addition to teaching I have also served as the subject matter expert for Fresno County School District and Oaks Christian Online Academy and a course developer for Georgia Virtual School. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education from Oakwood University where I graduated summa laude as well as a Master of Science degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University. I specialize in math tutoring for all students ages K through College. My subjects include pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, SAT prep, ACT prep, and PSAT prep. I am also an artist and college and career coach. I always tailor my instruction (and sometimes my prices) to meet the needs of my students.
