Tutor in Tampa, Florida

I have been in education for the past 12 years. I spent most of that time teaching first grade and tutoring students ages pre-kindergarten through third grade. After my daughter was born, I decided to devote all my spare time to tutoring students. It has always been my passion to help children become lifelong learners, responsible decision makers, and productive and caring citizens. It is my aim to help students become foundationally strong in reading, writing, math, oral language, organization and study skills. It is these strong skills that lead to having academic success in the classroom. I believe when students are proficient in academic subjects, they develop confidence in handling the daily demands of school. It is my personal goal to help each student gain confidence, to love learning, and to get excited about school. I have taught in the public school in different educational environments; resource, self-contained and co-teaching. I have taught in the school district of Hillsborough County and in an Arizona private school. I am organized, creative and innovative and this was displayed when I developed curricula and activities for the students I worked with in the different school settings. I received my undergraduate degree from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire and my Master's of Education degree from Saint Leo University in Florida.
