Tutor in The Woodlands, Texas

My name is Jessica and I just moved to The Woodlands a couple of months ago so my husband could start graduate school at the University of St. Thomas. I am an experienced math and science teacher and tutor, and now that we are settled I am looking to start tutoring all levels of math (middle and high school) and science (up through high school Chemistry and Biology). I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master's of Education, both from the University of Notre Dame. After graduation I taught high school math and science for three years until the birth of my first daughter in 2012, at which time I chose to stay home with her. Since then I have done private tutoring and I have tutored at Huntington Learning Center for subject tutoring and ACT prep. I have always been passionate about education and I love tutoring. Being able to work one-on-one with students allows me to really focus on areas where they are having trouble and to adapt my teaching to their style of learning. In the end, nothing makes me happier than seeing a difficult topic click for a child and watching them gain confidence as they begin to succeed where they've struggled in the past. This is especially true in math and science, since these seem to be sticking points for many students, but they are subjects that I love and enjoy trying to make fun and interesting. Subjects I am comfortable tutoring include: middle school math, middle school science, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, and ACT prep. I am available during the day and in the evenings and can work out of my home, your home, or at a central location (like a library or a Panera Bread) depending on the schedule of the day.
