I am offering tutoring in Mandarin Chinese, the most widely spoken language in the World. I was born and raised in Beijing, China, and I can teach Mandarin Standard, the official language of China, Taiwan and Singapore, or "Beijinger", the distinct accent only heard in Beijing. (I do not speak Cantonese.) I offer several packages, and can customize your package to better meet your needs: The "Business Traveller" Packages: Learn how to order Peking Duck like a native, and a venti latte at Starbucks, I'll provide tips on cultural expectations of you, and suggest where to visit during your stay. Choose from either package: #1a: "Help! I'm leaving tomorrow!" A compressed single 1 hour session for $50 or a single 2 hour session $100 (I encourage you to audio record the session); #1b: "I'm better at planning than the the guy who chose package #1a." 3x1 hour sessions: $120 #2: The "Tourist" Package for couples or individuals: Learn currency terms, how to give instructions to a taxi driver and how to navigate the Beijing subway system and tips on where to go and what to see. 4x1 hour packages for $150 (couples welcome) #3: The "I'm going to China to teach English" Package: Learn how to order hand-pulled noodles and a venti latte, how to get an apartment, and I'll hook you up with the apps and web sites you need, like how to watch Hollywood movies for free. 5 x 1 hour sessions for $160 For each student I require a free phone consultation to better understand your needs, so that I may customize your tutoring. I also can teach Pinyin, phonetic Chinese in the Latin alphabet. I can conduct instruction in written Chinese in person or via e-mail, and spoken Chinese in person or via Skype. All sessions include free handouts to facilitate your learning. Payment in full is required prior to the first session.
