I am offering my services in two main areas: tutoring grades K-12 in areas such as grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, etc.; and in essay and project planning, editing and reviewing essays in all grades and subject areas. Sometimes students suffer from impacted classes, unable to get the one-on-one attention that is needed in the difficult subject of English. With my help, students will have the opportunity to grow and learn in a supportive and encouraging environment. We will tailor our work to their needs, be it grammar, spelling, textual analysis, critical thinking, reading comprehension, etc. Secondly, I offer services as an Essay Assistant. Planning, editing and reviewing are critical and seperate parts in the writing process. I will help students from the beginning stages of the project, and provide a plan of action to complete the process, breaking their assignment down into managable chunks. Having a trained set of eyes review work in a constructive and timely manner will ensure a higher standard of work being submitted for grading. I specialize in critical thinking, textual analysis, reviewing/editing reports, grammar skills, etc. I'd be willing to provide this service via email, in addition to tutoring in person. I would be happy to provide personal references upon request, in addition to copies of my most recent Live Scan finger printing. I am available for in-person tutoring Monday through Thursday, from 4-9pm. Essay work and project planning can be completed via email at any time. Basically, I am a stay at home mom with a passion for teaching and English. Being a mother, I understand the compassion it takes to encourage and motivate students through the difficulties that educational challenges pose. Often learning difficulties effect a student's perception of their self, and can damage their self-esteem. I am hoping to use my talents to help students achieve the grades they desire, and send their confidence level soaring. I may even be able to get them to enjoy the subject just as much as I do. Pricing for my services will depend on the scope of work required, and is open for discussion. Tutoring services generally are billed per hour in the range of $20-$30 an hour, depending on the situation. I would be willing to assist with project planning and essay advisement on a price per page basis. My background: I received my B.A. in English Literature, graduating in under four years with Laude honors. I completed all pre-requisite requirements for a Multiple Subject teaching credential, and was accepted to CSU San Marcos for a teaching credential (which I turned down to stay at home with my new baby). I've passed all testing requirements to become a teacher (CSET English, CBEST), and plan to complete the process to become a teacher after my children begin elementary school.
