Hi there! My name is Jacob, and I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer looking to help others improve their French-speaking skills. I just returned from a tour in West Africa, so I have a hands-on experience living in a non-traditional, French-speaking environment. I just recently settled down in Providence, so I'm looking to create a small client base of motivated individuals that wish to improve their French fluency, and to help me maintain mine. I believe in a casual approach to learning, focusing on the conversational and functional aspects of the language. I prefer an adaptive policy when it comes to learning. Each lesson will be tailored depending on what the student wants to learn or needs to focus on. If a learner prefers memorization, then flash cards and repetition are the way to go. If a learner requires a more interactive approach, then discussion and conversation is a more optimal route. Simply put, we'll be working together. I can work with any level of French-speaker, from beginner to fluent, focusing on basic grammar and sentence formation or simply chatting to maintain fluency. My goal is simply to help you learn.
