I have been helping children, young adults, and older adults for 25 years and counting. I do child and family counseling as well as academic tutoring and mentoring. I also work part time for the State of HI DOE as a tutor in their SPED division. I am also under contract to the Veteran’s Administration for my work with disabled vets. This is passionate work: academic and counseling assistance. This group of adults deserves our full support as they have given a permanent measure of their devotion to our country. I am a belly dancer and teach Persian dance as well. Dance/Music makes my mind flexible. My degrees are in Psychology, with concentrations in medicine and pharmacology. I keep current via continuing medical education at John's Hopkins University Medical School, and the Universities of Pennsylvania and Virginia's medical schools online. I am in the process of becoming certified in herbal medicine and aromatherapuetic medicine so that I can offer people complimentary medical choices. I also do home schooling. I am $40.00 an hour and located in Honolulu. I have: computer systems, textbooks, a large lovely lobby for family members who wish to wait during sessions, I am multilingual, and computer proficient in both PC and MAC in all software commonly used and am skilled with most hardware issues. This award is made in recognition of outstanding community involvement through ARCS and only 14 are awarded nationally. This award was given for outstanding fundraising and PR for the chapter. 1993 Was named ARCS ANGEL by the Honolulu Chapter of ARCS in recognition of my work as Ways and Means and PR Chair. 1995 to the present was nominated and accepted into WHO'S WHO of Executives and Professionals 1995 and 1996 I was given a certificate of volunteer appreciation by the Hawaii Nature Center Past Community Affiliations: Punahou School: past member of the Punahou Alumni Association Board of Directors, and in 1995 Chair of PAA's Special Events Committee. Co-Chair of Punahou's "Night of 150 Stars" that we presented to a sell out crowd of 8,000 people at the Waikiki Shell during our 150th anniversary year in 1991. The Hawaii Nature Center: Have been instrumental every year for 6 years in HNC's "Nature Caper" event that happens every spring. In charge of entertainment and food for over 6,000 people who attend the all day community fair for children and families. ARCS: Have been instrumental with the Honolulu Chapter of Achievement Rewards for College Scientists for many years. Nationally, ARCS has raised in excess of $80,000,0... for brilliant college science students and we count private citizens, Fortune 500 firms, and major universities among our backers. ARCS has assisted over 8,000 students at over 60 universities over the course of their 40 year history. The Exchange Club Of Bishop Street: Past Membership Chair, and Secretary; and one of a handful female members of this chapter. Exchange Clubs are one the oldest service organizations in the United States, dating back to 1911. Our goal is to eliminate child and spouse abuse. We have hundreds of thousands of members in tens of thousand of chapters across the US; whose goal is to give back to our communities while providing an atmosphere of business opportunity and camaraderie for our members. CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION I have continuing medical education unit hours from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine back to 2006. I also have CME units from John’s Hopkins School of Medicine, and the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
