Hello! My name is Cassandra, I am a former student of Ryerson University's Early Childhood Education Program, and I am currently studying English Lit at Queen's University. I am looking to provide Reading, Writing, and English support to children of all ages. I have a specialty with school aged kids as I've been a nanny for 6 years and have worked with many school aged kids during that time. Speaking of my nannying, I've had the pleasure of working for 5 families, all of whom treated me like one of their own. My kids and I have done some fantastic activities, like movie nights, complete with homemade tickets and concessions stands, picnics in the park, role play dinner nights (we pretended we were in Paris and wore berets while listening to French music). The kids really enjoyed using their imagination on that one, which is something I encourage and believe in strongly with my work. I put the same emphasis on creativity in their school work as well. The kids and I have come up with word games, mini book clubs, and spelling bee style "tests" to reinforce their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and vocabulary skills.
