Hi! My name is Will Katz, and I'm glad you're here. Tutoring can be incredibly helpful for students. Here are some common reasons you might consider tutoring for your son or daughter: An otherwise stellar student is having trouble with one particular class and needs some help. A student is having accountability issues, and would benefit from some friendly oversight. You're busy and would find massive relief from knowing that a professional is making sure the homework is getting done well. Or, plain and simple: the grades need to improve. General information: I've been a professional academic tutor for four years, specializing in Math and Essay Writing. However, unlike many other tutors, I can help students get A's in any subject -- from 6th grade all the way up to the College level. Tutoring is most often in the home, which is convenient for many families. If desired, we can meet at a public location, such as a library or coffee shop. Timing is Sunday, 10am-7pm, Monday-Thursday, 3pm-9pm, and Friday 3pm-6pm. As to the best number of hours per week, that completely depends on your situation. Some families need more of an accountability coach, and get tutoring four nights a week. Other families just need a personal lesson in that one subject, and they benefit from one hour, twice a week. The right tutoring is totally dependent on your family's needs. Drop me a line, at 415-656-... or, wekatz (at) gmail....., and I can help uncover the best path to move forward. My rates are: $55 for one hour, for one student. $75 for one hour, for two students. (If you have two students who would both benefit from tutoring, the $75 is a great option. One tutor for two students is a great ratio, as one student can receive coaching while the other works. It's like getting two hours for $75 instead of $110 -- you save $35!) My Background: Growing up in a nice, suburban area of Los Angeles, made the Dean's List at the prestigious Harvard-Westlake School. Attended UC Berkeley, achieving Bachelor's in Psychology. Four years experience tutoring. I just finished my Academic Success Trilogy, the Get Killer Grades Series. The books will be available on Amazon by this summer for the fall semester. My long-term goal is to support educational reform, because we all know our educational system needs that. However, right now I'm only able to do this one student at a time, but each and every student counts, and I look forward to working with yours. Testimonials: "I want to recommend Will Katz. We've been working with him for a few months now, and he's just fantastic. I was pulling my hair out over my 15-year old son, but Will really connected with him, and now his grades are going up across the board. It's such a relief to me to know that all my son's homework is getting finished to a high level of quality. Will is friendly, polite, and punctual. A lot of tutors will only do one or two subjects. What's great about Will, is he can help with pretty much anything. Plus, his rates are very reasonable. He is well worth it!" -Suzanne M. "In considering a tutor for my teen-aged daughter, I was concerned with three things: significant improvement in performance (in this case, Algebra 2/Trig), the ability to connect with my daughter and my daughter's comfort with the tutor. With Will, we found all three, in a big way. My daughter's comprehension of the material quickly improved, as did her test scores. Will really connected with her, making for easy and clear communication and enabling them to make serious progress each session. My daughter was comfortable with Will, eliminating any self-consciousness or embarrassment, which would have hindered her progress. He was encouraging, and genuinely happy with her success, which gave her added confidence in her own abilities. We were not happy to lose him. I highly recommend Will. With his tutoring, there was a swift and sustained positive impact on my daughter's academic performance." -Kelly M I'm now accepting new families, and I'd be thrilled to answer your questions. Drop me a line, and we can chat about your situation and what would be best. Will Katz 415-656-... wekatz (at) gmail.....
