Hi! My name is Samantha Brown and I am a senior at Ithaca High School. I love working with children, I am a summer residential camp counselor with children ages 6-14, where I specialize in teaching them how to sail. This camp, Camp Seafarer, allows me to live with children 24/7 and encourage them daily to try new things, make new friends, and be active and have fun. As well as Camp Seafarer, I have been a volunteer coach for Cascadilla Boat Club's novice team. Working with mostly middle school aged children - this has furthered my education and passion for encouraging and teaching children. I believe that due to my age, I am less intimidating to children than an adult may be. I believe my age works as an advantage, because I can relate to them more but I am still able to be strict if required. I am flexible, I understand that parenting and school is a roller coaster, and I am willing to work through anything with you and your child. Although I am young, I love children, I love teaching, and I believe I would be an outstanding candidate to have the honor to tutor your child. I am willing and able to tutor or teach any pf the following; English (Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, Proofreading), Elementary Science and Math, and Public Speaking.
