My name is Johanna and I am an Ontario Certified Teacher. I recently graduated from the Concurrent Education program at Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing Schulich School of Education to become a Primary/Junior teacher. I have many years of experience working with children on an individual basis, as well as within small groups throughout the practicum components of my program. My practicums consisted of placements in the following Grades: Music (K-8), Grade 1, Grade 3, and most recently, a split Grade 4/5 class. I have also been a Kindergarten Readiness Facilitator, preparing and implementing programs which have helped prepare 3-4 year old children for Kindergarten in the Fall, as well as a volunteer in a Grade 2 classroom and work with Community Living with children with special needs for 3 years. I had the opportunity to tutor a 3rd year Concurrent Education student for 2 years and enjoyed being able to assist him with a variety of academic areas. I am looking to tutor children who are in Kindergarten to Grade 6 in all subject areas with the exception of French for $20-25/ hr in the Tillsonburg, Aylmer, Brownsville, Delmer, Delhi, Ingersoll, Woodstock areas. I can work with your child on enhancing academic skills in a variety of engaging and educational ways such as through hands on activities to assist them with learning. I can focus on a specific subject area or assist them with a variety of subject areas. I have a large repertoire of teaching techniques which I have acquired over the past 5 years and I also have an abundant amount of teaching resources and books for various Grade levels which can be used with your child. I am patient and understanding and always ensure that my teaching methods effectively reflect the students learning style in order to consistently set them up for success resulting in the enhancement of various academic or social skills.
