My name is Krista Substad. I would eagerly welcome the opportunity to encourage and motivate your child to grow to love learning. I offer private tutor sessions in any elementary subject. As a tutor, I am committed to develop and adapt fun and engaging lessons and activities that meet the individual learning styles of each child. I have a passion for giving children the tools and encouragement they need to reach their highest potential and to have a passion for learning. I seek to see every child reach his or her highest potential. I have loved working with children in a variety of capacities. I will graduate from the University of Northwestern - St. Paul in May with a degree in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Special Education. I have taken college-level courses on how to best teach elementary subjects. These classes have given me practical ways on how to adapt instruction in order encourage each individual student. I am currently student teaching. During student teaching, I have had the opportunity to teach numerous lessons. I have gained much experience developing and teaching a variety of lessons that are planned to meet the individual needs of the students. I am intentional to include learning activities that will effectively motivate the students to learn. I have also gained experience through other teaching field experiences in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and Special Education classrooms. In addition to my college teaching experiences, I have been a private tutor for elementary children, an English teacher in Thailand, a Personal Care Assistant, and a nanny.
