As an experienced educator with the Miami Dade Public School System, I have had the opportunity to work very closely with curriculum, K-12. I am certified by the State of Florida Department of Education and hold an Ed.D. Degree. I am certified in Educational Leadership (K-12) and have been a principal for a high school for many years, working with curriculum at all levels and began the first Cambridge Academy for high performing students with much success . I am also certified in Guidance and Counseling (Prekindergarten - Grade 12), working with students with different disabilities, and with my certification in Mathematics (Grades 6-12) have taught middle and high schools students from Algebra through Calculus. I have been in charge of many low performing schools as a District Administrator, where much success has been recorded according to the State Department of Education, working with the administration and staff of the identified schools. As Director of the National Science Foundation Grant and a Knight Foundation Grant, for the school system, I have developed and implemented a community tutoring program throughout all public libraries in Miami, Florida, in Reading/English, Mathematics, and Science . I have worked closing with a software publishing company in developing a Spanish program for students who need to learn the language and have done consulting work for an online software program to assist students in learning the Florida Standards. This program is written in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, using activities and assessments as seen on the State assessment tests. I am fluent in English and Spanish.
