I am a Teacher by profession. I am certified to teach in the Jamaica Education System. I hold a Bachelors in Education in Human Ecology from the Shortwood Teachers' College. I am also the holder of a Bachelors in Laws from the University of London. I taught for two years in the secondary school system in Jamaica after which I became a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). I have worked at the Legal Affairs Division of the JCF where I was charged with writing memoranda, licences, drafting of legal documents and writing legal opinions. I currently work in the Planning, Research and Development Branch where I am a part of the Research Unit. I have several years of experience in writing in all the capacities that I have worked and have also gained experience in writing for Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute (CFNI) on behalf of the Pan American Health Association (PAHO) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
