I am an educator with 42 years of experience in math, science, Language Arts and Social Studies at all levels, kindergarten through adult education. I love to tutor and work in small groups. The last three plus years I have been working for Arizona Western College as a GED instructor. I love tutoring because I can focus on one student’s needs. I believe in using a multitude of teaching strategies because all students learn differently. My style is to help the student discover the best way they can learn and apply it to the work at hand. Student engagement, when the student is involved in the learning process with as many of their senses as possible (seeing, hearing, listening, writing and touching) is encouraged to explain their thinking. I would like to add that I believe learning should be an adventure and fun. I like to keep discussions lively, stimulating and tuned into today to demonstrate the value an education can bring to a person’s life. Respectfully, Mark H.
