I have been tutoring for about 17 years, and I also have approximately 8 years of classroom teaching experience. I enjoy working with students of all ages and have worked with students from preschool age through college. I have served as the superintendent of Sunday School at my church, in which we have children from 3 years of age through 6th grade. I have always wanted to be a teacher and have taken as many opportunities as possible to work with students. I also love mathematics; so much so, in fact, that I earned a PhD in mathematics from ASU in 2009. Since the time I was 14 years old, I have done my best to combine my love for teaching and my love of mathematics. I often tell my students that my goal is to make them love mathematics. I know that I won't be able to make every student love math, but I do believe that I can help students understand it, respect it, and not be afraid of it. Finally, I have received a couple of compliments from students that I thought I'd share. One of my former students improved her math grade by 2 letter grades during the two years I worked with her. One day she told me she was actually excited about her math test! When I began working with her she was terrified of math tests. Another of my students told me that I made math easy for her.
