I have over twenty years of professional experience in the education field and I tutor students that are in need of improved academic performance. I have a strong passion to educate young minds and help them develop into well rounded, high achieving individuals. Throughout my entire career span I have had valuable opportunities to teach groups of students with varying levels of abilities, including those who performed at grade level, gifted students, and those with learning disabilities. These experiences have enabled me to become proficient at planning creative, stimulating activities that allows for a hands-on approach to learning. I also gear tutoring sessions toward accommodating multiple intelligences. My particular strengths are in the area of English Language Arts (Grade K through middle school) , and I am also comfortable with the subject of math at the early grade levels. I take individual interests into account and I make connections between knowledge and the outside community. I encourage parent involvement in order to reinforce the importance of education in the home as well as to strengthen the self-esteem of the child.
