Tutor in Burnaby, British Columbia

I have 5000 hours of tutoring experience and I have helped 50 students with their studies. I have tutored students ranging from grade 10 high school to 2nd year post secondary students. I have also helped younger students who sought to improve their knowledge and skills beyond that of the BC curriculum. I have aided students in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. I have also assisted students in improving their problem solving skills to be better prepared for various math contests (e.g. CEMC, CNML, AMC, Waterloo math contests, etc) During my sessions, I tend to avoid providing the answers to a students question directly as I have found students usually memorize solutions to various types of questions; hence, when they encounter a question that appears to be new to them, they struggle to solve it sometimes even though they may have already been introduced to the concepts needed to tackle the question. In my sessions, I try to guide students towards the answer and help them develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills; where needed, I may even go back to the foundations to ensure my students have a strong understanding of concepts. My listed rate is for students in the vicinity of Burnaby North. For students farther away, I may be able to accomodate; however, my rate may be higher.
