I have been teaching and tutoring students of all ages for 10 years. I received a BA in mathematics and statistics, an MBA, and worked 8 years for a market research company as a statistical analyst. I home schooled my 5 children, teaching them elementary math through pre-calculus. I currently have two children in college, both are studying accounting. My eldest daughter graduated magna laude after qualifying for academic scholarships. I have taught geometry, Algebra I and II to high school aged students in home school coops. I am currently an instructor at Tulsa Community College, teaching Elementary Statistics, College Algebra, and developmental math courses. I truly enjoy teaching and tutoring math. I understand that math can be a struggle for some students. I feel my job as a tutor is not just to instruct, but also to listen to my students so I can pinpoint what they need to be successful in their course. I have taught many math courses over the years, and I have found that one-on-one instruction outside of the classroom can really make a difference. Students can ask questions they may not have been able to ask in class and spend the extra time on a challenging concept. I love the "light bulb" moment, when something suddenly makes sense! Tutoring has always been a positive experience for me. My students usually leave with smiles on their faces. I usually meet a library or public place. I charge $30 an hour and offer a $5 discount for the first hour.
