I have several openings for Reading/English tutoring sessions this summer. I am a certified 5-9 English Language Arts Teacher with a Masters degree in the area of Teaching. I have extensive experience in teaching the levels involved in the process of learning to read including: Phonics, Fluency, Reading Comprehension, and Advanced Literary Analysis to both middle and high school students. I can provide a both personal and professional references upon request as well as a copy of my resume including qualifications. Students who often fail to meet growth in the area of Reading Comprehension have failed to master processes taught previous to the actual Reading Comprehension instruction. I have current knowledge, understanding, and experience with the implementation of processes targeted in the NC Common Core Essential Curricular Standards and strive to move students from foundational learning to utilizing foundational skills in the process(es) required by relevant grade level Common Core Essential Standards. These standards are the standards that are routinely tested on state mandated EOG, EOC, and NC Final Exams. I offer previous year review or upcoming year preview lessons depending on each student's individual Reading needs. I am located in Stokes County and am available to tutor in either Stokes or Forsyth Counties at public library locations. Evening and Weekend sessions are now available. Hourly rate is $30.00 per hour with a six, one hour session minimum paid in advance of first session and includes any materials that your student may need. I do offer a multiple student and long term discount savings of 20%. This applies to families w/multiple children needing tutoring on the second child or beyond and for those who may need tutoring services beyond 30 days. Sessions are scheduled twice weekly to maintain consistent practice. Practice is assigned between sessions and reviewed for understanding at the beginning of the next session.
