Tutor in Ellisville, Missouri

I'm an
Individual
I provide tutoring for all ages (as well as baby-sitting), usually grades K-12 but can start teaching younger children (things like shapes, colors, numbers, the alphabet and there sounds, rhyming words, opposites, animals and their sounds, and the list could go on for days) through games, activities, and play. My favorite subjects include Math, Reading/Writing, English, Psychology, Biology, Medical Terminology, and most electives. I also can help with studying for tests, improving study skills, organization, helping with class projects, and writing research papers and other types of papers and essays. I love to make learning easy and fun for children by using games and other creative strategies to help children grasp and understand the classroom material. I am currently a college student at SLU working toward my Bachelors in psychology with a minor in Biology and am studying pre-medicine. I have organized many study groups in my college classes and I often find myself helping and teaching other classmates that do not understand the material. I have also worked as a tutor for groups of international exchange students from 1st-8th grade, as well as working as a classroom teacher in a couple of daycare centers. I have a 5 year old daughter, so I have lots of experience from working with her. I started teaching her sign language at 3 months old and always found a way to incorporate learning into our daily play. Depending on what subjects your child is learning, I occasionally may bring fun learning activities or games to help with lessons or areas they may be struggling with. I also like to stay in contact with the parents and keep them informed with their child’s progress and to let them know what we have been working on. I strive to make learning fun and easy. I also adapt lessons specifically to the Child by taking into account their learning style, for example if they are visual learners or if they are more of the hands on type. I have a very flexible schedule and I am available on short notice. I also help my students over the phone if they are struggling with something on their homework or had a question about something they learned in class that day and are seeking some emergency help. I try my best to be available at any time and I try my best to be the greatest resource they have. I also welcome last minute study sessions, for example your child was told they have a surprise quiz the following day, I will do everything in my power to arrange a tutor session later that night (sometimes within that same hour). I want my students to succeed, feel comfortable in class, understand the material, and enjoy learning. I strive to make this happen and will do anything I can to help.
