I'm an
Individual
Yeats once wrote that, "education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." When it came to my academic experiences, I knew I simply wish not to keep knowledge and experience tightly in a pail - rather, I want to help share it and help others find the light of their fire in what they learn and what they do. It has been a force that has driven me through my tutoring experience since 2011, and even as I've done more local tutoring at my spare time in college. I have broad experience with teaching students in the middle and high school levels on various subjects. I had these specific experiences: - tutoring a 6th grader in middle school mathematics (2011-20...) - tutoring 9th graders in mathematics ranging from algebra to trigonometry (2011-20...) - tutoring a 12th grader in chemistry and modern world history (2012) I also had experience in volunteer tutoring at a local high school in my first year of college, with broad expertise in high school mathematics, English, and social sciences I am not too far removed from schooling - I still remember what it was like going through school and learning for the first time on my own. I'm here to be there so you won't have to go through your learning alone. As nobody truly learns by themselves, I view my work with students as a partnership that we undertake together. On my end, students can expect flexible lessons and activities that go above the usual "required curriculum" a student may just have in school for a subject I'll be sure to teach a bit more for good measure for emphasis and deeper understanding, while also being appealing and relatable. I will also produce, if requested, small quizzes and other supplementary materials for learning that I will evaluate and use to further support our work. Students need only bring their best efforts and we will see their learning experience through, lighting their fire. Not only will students have improved grades and marks but knowing subjects thoroughly and its applications, beyond "turning the crank" with information. In my partnership, I also believe in communication: I'll do my best to be as receptive as possible with knowing how my student is doing, but I also want to hear from the student on how we are working together. Also, my first hourly session will have no charge as a kind of "test drive", and if a student is completely unsatisfied, I also will not charge for that session. For locations, I will do my best to work with you either at home or at a location near you such as a library or a quiet public venue, as is convenient for you. My contacts are (301)-90... or [email protected] . I hope to be in touch with you and to be your partner moving forward in your education!
