I have extensive experience tutoring students of all age ranges and for a variety of purposes and subjects (i.e. standardized test prep, reading/writing/language arts, history/social studies, Romance languages, music, college admissions prep), primarily in the New York Metropolitan Area, as I am new to the the Bay Area. I began tutoring high school and elementary students in college as a volunteer, and have since worked as a private tutor for the past 7 years. Many of my students, both past and present, have managed Aspergers, autism, ADD, and ADHD. LANGUAGES: I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and offer written and oral lessons in both. I have strong writing and editing skills, and have done extensive work with English-language learners (ELL) learners in nonprofit centers. COLLEGE ADMISSIONS: I worked as a recruitment coordinator for the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions for 4 years and offer private college admissions consultations that include, but are not limited to: college list selection, college application schedule and organization, college application presentation, college essay preparation/editing, interview technique, and recommendation criteria. I currently conduct alumni interviews with prospective applicants to Yale. MUSIC: I am a professional singer and actor with extensive classical training. I provide private voice and piano instruction to students at the beginner and intermediate level. Both piano and voice will learn how to read music first (as I do not teach the Suzuki method), and voice students will also learn to hone their ear training and site singing skills. I trained at the Yale School of Music and Tanglewood Institute. I have an upright piano available in my home to conduct all lessons. More information is available on my website, www.....com. AVAILABILITY: Most of my clients come to my home for instruction, but I may be able to do private house sessions upon request depending on scheduling availability/proximity. I also tutor some clients through Skype and Google Hangouts. My apartment is very accessible via public transportation, as I live one block away from the Rockridge BART stop and on the same block as the following buses: 49, 51B, 605, 688....
