By being a volunteer science peer tutor at my high school, I have developed great communication skills through which I was able to explain concepts logically and effectively. Helping students with their weekly school assignments has helped further extend my problem-solving and organizational skills. Moreover, as a peer tutor, I was able to revise students’ lessons and follow up with their progress while focusing on and achieving high scores in my academic studies. I also have completed relevant science and math courses at a university level thus I'm familiar with the syllabus and expectations. Additionally, I have been an ESL Ambassador where I assisted new students - particularly those whose first language is not English - in transitioning to our school by leading on tours and explaining important dates. At McMaster, as a first-year science student, I also provided additional help to my peers who had difficulty with concepts in subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Calculus. I answered questions and explained topics regularly on our course online platform and I also worked closely with my classmates in a group study setting to review materials for assessments or assignments. I was also a volunteering pianist in the Logos Baptist Church where I worked closely with members of the ensemble every week to prepare hymns and worship music for Sunday services; hence I am also a team player at all times.
