I graduated from Stony Brook University’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program in addition to the Scholars for Medicine program with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. WISE is a multidimensional program composed of women interested in advancing in STEM fields. Scholars for Medicine is a highly selective BS/MD program at Stony Brook which grants me acceptance into Stony Brook University Medical School directly out of high school. I graduated a year early (3 years) with my bachelors degree and would like to pursue my passion for teaching prior to matriculating to medical school next fall. I am a certified CRLA tutor and have tutored for the Stony Brook Academic Success and Tutoring Center as well the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences for the past three years. I love teaching as it gives me the ability to refine my own knowledge while feeling the gratification of being able to help someone else. In addition to my academic strengths and background in tutoring, I bring to the table experience working alongside elderly patients both in medical and nonmedical settings. Since a very young age, I have devoted large amounts of my time volunteering at nursing homes, senior centers, and hospitals. Recently, I had also spent a great deal of time working alongside physicians primarily in geriatrics, but also other specialties. These experiences have bolstered my interpersonal and communication skills, allowing me to communicate with people of all different ages and backgrounds.
