Common Core is here and the math portion presents challenges for some parents and students. I offer tutoring that will not only help your child work on their current assignments, but also build basic math skills and thinking from the ground up (or as far back as they need). I offer a fast-paced approach with frequent positive feedback, modeled on the best swimming lessons and sports practices that I have observed over the years. My goal is get your kids feeling successful and enjoying math, laying the foundation for the harder classes to come in future years. I am also available as a tutor for general elementary subjects and study habits. My unique qualifications: * Ph.D. in Oceanography (a discipline perfectly suited for Common Core) * Practicing Environmental Scientist (during school hours) * Mom of two public elementary school students * Classroom volunteer for the past six years.
