Tutor in Bronx, New York

Greetings! I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2010. Upon graduation, I was accepted into the Teach for America program where I began my career teaching in Harlem at Success Academy Harlem 2. I taught third and first grade at this school for several years until moving into the sixth grade at Grand Concourse Academy Charter School in the Bronx. These schools are rigorous with high expectations so trust and believe me when I promise results. Depending on your child's specific needs, I alter my instruction to include a mini-lesson with guided practice and independent work. On some occasions, I may assign homework to be completed before our next session. Generally, I will assess their progress every two weeks to ensure growth and mastery in specific reading and/or math standards. Lastly, I try to accommodate parents as best as I can. I am willing to drive to local residents in the Bronx and in Westchester. I am available Monday through Friday after 5:00 PM. In some situations, I can accommodate an early weekend tutoring session.
