Tutor:Alexander Schlatter Michigan State University Junior Major: Chemical Engineering GPA:3.875 Background: I graduated from Bay City Western in the spring of 2015 with magna laude honors and an overall GPA of 4.03. From there, I completed my first year of college at Delta College in the Tri-cities. Following a year at Delta, I then transferred to Michigan State University to study Chemical Engineering. I have always enjoyed learning new things and working through various methods of problem solving. Throughout my educational background, I have assisted many fellow classmates in the coursework at hand and have enjoyed doing so. I plan to bring this experience and knowledge to use in my tutor jobs. Objective: To assist and guide students in their current studies and to not just display how to do the problems, but to explain problem solving skills and methods. From my personal experience, these skills and methods can vary from class to class as the teacher chooses different ways of teaching. Also, I would like to share other tips and skills that I have picked up along the way such as note taking and test taking skills. I believe that most anyone is capable of succeeding in school given the proper drive and desire to learn. Some are at various levels in their classes and may have more to catch up on. In general, meeting once a week for a couple hours would be the usual. I will also allow the first period to be a gauge as to how well I can be compatable to help the student in his/her situation before requesting regular meet-ups. Overall, I would be thrilled to assist various students to tap into their inner potential and be a part of their future success. I look forward to getting started!
