I graduated with a B...... in biochemistry from University of Toronto, as well as, a double minor in English literature and biology. I have volunteer tutored with Let’s Talk Science and Frontier College, and I have been a private tutor working independently and with companies. I have also worked in summer camps and after-school programs with children from ages of 3-6. As for tutoring, I have experience with all grade ranges form elementary and middle school, up to high school and university students, although my focus and interest is teaching STEM subjects for grades from 8 to 12. I really enjoy breaking down "complicated" theories / concepts / questions and helping the student build the skills to recognize how to solve these problems themselves. Although I recognize memorization is necessary in a lot of the learning process, I know it is also the hardest part. I try to ease that as much as possible by helping students recognize patterns in what they are learning. English is also a passion of mine, and I thoroughly enjoy helping students increase their reading and writing skills by trying to instill a love of language and literature in them. While tutoring is a side job, I do not see it as taking a lesser role in my life. I view it as a second job or hobby because teaching is a passion of mine and I enjoy it a lot.
