Hello! My name is Tori. I specialize in teaching math to elementary and middle school students, and some high school students. EXPERIENCE: I've been an instructor at Mathnasium since June 2016, where I specialized in math tutoring. I've worked with children whose ages range from 7 to 16. I helped them with math homework, and taught them new concepts and tricks using Socratic reasoning. My goal is to guide students to be able to do math problems independently, so that they will succeed on exams. By working with many different students, I can explain concepts in different ways to cater to the learning style of the student. I also developed an awareness of the gaps in knowledge a student has. From there, I can assist in covering those topics to build a stronger math foundation. This is important because math builds on itself. EDUCATION: I graduated from West Hills High School in 2013. I currently attend Grossmont College, where I'm working towards my Associate's degrees in Business and Economics. I have taken the general education requirements for English and Math. I have completed algebra, pre-calculus, statistics, and calculus 1-3. My cumulative GPA is 3.67. I plan to transfer to SDSU to major in Business with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.
