I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (with honors) and a Masters of Business Administration with a Finance Concentration. I am also a certified Mathematics teacher in the state of Texas for grades 8-12. I've been tutoring for the past five years from elementary math to college Calculus. I've tutored academic subjects and also college and government entrance exams. I also taught Geometry, Algebra, Pre-AP Pre Calculus, and AP Calculus in high school for two years. I am currently working as an Engineer as a Project Manager for an energy company in Houston, TX. My teaching philosophy is always been simple, everybody is a different learner. One method may be easy for me but hard for you and vice versa. This is why I like to show at least two different ways to approach a problem, to give options to the student and see the problem differently. My background in Engineering allows me to show the student why he/she is learning this particular math concept and how it applies to the real world. I enjoy seeing the progression of my students throughout the semester in the subject matter and watching their self confidence raise as they understand the topic and become successful in class.
