Tutor in Silver Spring, Maryland

Overview: I am offering mathematics tutoring services in Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus to interested candidates of all ages in the Columbia or Rockville, MD area. Due to scheduling constraints my availability is limited to Saturdays and Sundays. My hourly rate is $30.00. My educational background includes a B.S. in Bioengineering and a M.S. in Electrical engineering. As a note, during the week I am generally unavailable by phone until 18:00 (6 p.m.). How I tutor: Every student is different, so in general I prefer to meet and discuss the needs of the individual before any tutoring is to begin. Some example situations include just review of past content, or getting ahead of the current state of the class. If the goal is to review past material each session would be focused on the fundamentals of the topics covered during the week. Another method is to cover the material in advance to give the student an introduction prior to seeing the subject in class to aid in learning.
