Mr. Ahmed Alkabary took two university Mathematics courses with me: Math 222 (Linear Algebra II), and Math 323 (Modern Algebra I). He was an excellent student, with rare qualities students have nowadays: curiosity and independence. Even though Ahmed was majoring in Computer Science, he took several non-required advanced Math classes performing way above average, (better than many majors in Mathematics), and he also liked trying to creatively connect the contents he acquired from both disciplines. I was soon very impressed and offered him an research scholarship for the summer in 2015, funded by NSERC, in which he and another student of mine would do independent reading and studying of new mathematical theories, and to experiment some research under my guidance. His skills are good for research work, both abstract or applied in Computer Science or Mathematics, and also are excellent for work in related areas. Besides being extremely smart, driven and curious, at the personal level he is friendly, social, and very easy to get along with. In summary, I strongly recommend Ahmed to any position involving computer science and mathematics or any position requiring deep analytical skills and creativity.
