Tutor in Kalamazoo, Michigan

My name is Karen. I have 30 years experience as an RN. I spent 17 years in the operating room as staff circulator and scrub in all specialties, team-leader, charge nurse, manager, and preceptor of staff and student nurses, and KVCC Surgical Technology Instructor. I have also worked on medical, surgical, telemetry floors, in research, assisted living, pediatric phone nursing, and as a site review consultant for MedAssurant. Building on my nursing career as a preceptor and instructor I began to tutor GED students and then moved to being a GED instructor with Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan. I taught all subjects with a focus on English and math. Presently, I have just finished tutoring anatomy and physiology to WMU students. I also teach children. I love to facilitate the success of others to achieve their full potential. I ask what a person can learn from me and how I can tailor it so they can understand the information, improve their understanding, along with their performance and skills. I love to teach hands on!! I am quality driven, organized, detail orientated, compassionate, empathetic, honest, and believe in dignity and respect for all people. In the beginning I usually meet students at the downtown Kalamazoo Public Library, as they have 2-hour meeting rooms that we can meet in until we are both mutually comfortable. We can also meet in my clubhouse library. I can come to a home with only a few stairs. I also tutor in my home. I am allergic to cats (very), smoke, and strong scents.
