Hi I have worked with students of all ages. I have my Masters in Montessori Education. I developed child's love of learning starting at age 3. The children were given lessons in a systematic way to develop their language and math concepts. I had several clients where I was not only able to get them to read bob books but go beyond further than they themselves dreamed possible. The proud smiles they wore when they were reading beyond their peers by at least two to three grade levels. The children started with reading and slowly I introduced writing. All my students I tutored after school learned to read chapter books and had a great mathematical mind because I used exchange game to build in math concepts. Love of learning instead of forcing. That's at the core of the Montessori philosophy. I realized my clients didn't attend Montessori education so I brought the education to them. The parents were thrilled and only had great things to say. Children were happy and loved learning in a positive way without rewards. I have worked with children who find reading and math challenging. I want to give them all of me and they can push themselves from that point forward. I make each learning experience unique to the child. I have my own materials I bring unless the child has to prepare for a statewide test then we use the materials the school is using. I use a pure educational approach when working with children and I have taught in public schools, I have prepared children for Common Core testing standards For the younger children I use: 5 steps in 72 lessons, systematic approach to learning how to read, and learning math using the arithmetic sense used in Singapore Math and Montessori education. I tutor all topics for elementary level children. My prices are reasonable. I am flexible with my hours and would be honored to work with your child!
