Tutor in Lexington, Kentucky

Hello! I'm Emily, a 24 year old accounting graduate of UK living in Lexington, KY. I have been hired for peer and private tutoring since I was 10 years old! I have references available upon request, and I can meet at your home, at my home or in a public location. I charge $15/hour, but I get a lot of joy helping others, so I'm definitely willing to work within a reasonable budget. I have been employed for clients in elementary school, college, every age in between, and even a couple of students twice my age who were returning to school for degrees. I work 8-5, so I'm not available weekdays, but I am very flexible in the evenings and weekends. I can teach Spanish and Japanese language, accounting skills and sewing skills, in addition to normal school-taught subjects. I'm a big proponent of individualized teaching, so I do my best to make sure that I create a learning environment best suited for you or your child, whatever the case may be. I feel that the biggest problem with public schools is the rigid structure of learning that is best for the majority, not necessarily the individual--I understand that learning style varies from person to person, and needs to be addressed accordingly. I'm not a professional tutor, and I don't have a teaching degree. I'm just a girl who understands other people, loves working with them and helping them to reach their full potential in a stress-free, optimistic setting.
