Tutor in London, Ontario

I am a recent grad of Child and Youth Studies. I have been a professional tutor for about three years, working freelance and Tutor Doctor. Before this, I participated in my high school peer tutor program, where I would help other students from around my school excel in their classes. But what makes me different than any other tutor? Personally, I always struggled in school as a child/youth. My teachers often dismissed my challenges navigating the curriculum and following everyone else's pace; I would always barely scrape by. My parents were repeatedly told I was disruptive and never did my work but little did they know, I had a learning disability and ADHD. I needed just a little extra assistance to fully understand what was being asked of me and some extra time to give out my best work. In high school, I still struggled, but with the help of my teachers and my parents, I was able to achieve the honour roll successfully. Now, as an adult, I excel in academics and obtain deans honour in my post-secondary programs. Why am I sharing all this with you? Well, simply because I understand first hand what it is like to be a child/youth within our educational system that was lost and forgotten about. I believe that everyone can achieve great honours with just a little bit of extra support and encouragement. With that being said, I am looking to build my clientele as I want to steer away from Tutor Doctor and make a foundation for my own tutoring company to begin; McLennan's Brilliant Brains. I will be providing services for children from the developmental range of JK up to HS in Math, Science, English and History.
