Tutor in Plymouth, Massachusetts

Hello all. My name is Joshua Garvey. I am a college student heading to Northeastern University in Boston (ranked #47 in the US by US News) for a PharmD at the end of the summer, and I am looking for students of all grades and ages to tutor before school starts. I am willing and able to teach any general academic area, or if going into high school, more specific areas. I have taught other kids since I was in third grade, naturally finding myself understanding the fundamentals and challenges quicker than other students, and giving myself the challenge of helping them figure it out. Every student learns differently, and in order to teach anything to a student, it has to be done in a method that is memorable to that particular student. I am also a pianist and flutist who is willing to teach students who want a head-start into a music program, to touch up on their skills, or even to give students a chance to figure out if the piano is their instrument of choice before making a solid decision. If neither one these instruments is intriguing, I am available to teach basic to complex music theory. I have been playing piano and flute for the last 10 years and teaching for the last three as a way to have a job while still focusing on academics, and I love being able to connect people to music differently. Apart from tutoring, I love reading, skiing, biking, racquetball, karate, and singing/songwriting. I love being able to go out into my community and being a role model by example, whether that be community service or support. **Price is negotiable, depends on grade and academic area.
