I'm Larisa, a 29-year-old with a true passion for making learning engaging, successful, and fun. I have been tutoring for over 15 years and have had great success with my students, from elementary to college-age. I began tutoring in high-school when I worked with community centers and local elementary schools and continued in college where I assisted classmates and then set up a tutoring and mentoring program for younger students. After college, I taught English abroad, channeling my passion for learning into unique and engaging lessons that helped my students reach and exceed their goals. Most recently, I worked as a clinician with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes where I supported students with learning difficulties to achieve success. I am passionate about student-focused learning and create success for students at every level and stage. I bring energy, patience, and passion along with practiced skill and many approaches to help diverse learners thrive. My lessons are carefully crafted to help students build their skills. Regular updates and personalized tools are used to measure growth and progress. My goal is to create passionate and independent learners, helping students find their way to finding their success. My particular passion and expertise is humanities subjects; English, History, and Social Studies. I also have university-level training in math and sciences and have had success helping students in these areas. I love to connect abstract concepts to real-world situations enabling students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of math and science in their everyday lives.
