I am a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Student at Princeton University with a passion for history and languages, and I work as a professional tutor with Princeton Tutoring. I will be conducting research at UCSD this summer and I am looking to continue tutoring June-August in the San Diego area. I have worked as a private tutor for 5 years, with around 30 different students of all ages and abilities. Additionally, I am passionate about teaching English as a Second language, and volunteer teaching recent immigrants from Africa and Latin America in a classroom setting. My biggest goal in tutoring, besides seeing my students make concrete progress, is to foster enthusiasm and enjoyment about a subject or successfully tackling new problems. I hope to be able to help students eliminate the confusion and frustration felt in dealing with a subject that is challenging, not well taught at school, or not interesting to them. My usual fee is $30/hour for languages, social sciences, test prep, or college application guidance; $40/hour for advanced science and math.
