I would provide tutoring in reading, math and writing. With my educational background (Specialist degree in School Psychology, Masters in Social Work and Counseling, I would be helping your child learn with offering a variety of methods. Some of these would include rhyming words, repetition of tasks, summarizing and memorizing. The tutoring session includes developing rapport, keeping the student interested and motivated to learn. With the use of different manipulative skills, such as blocks, mazes, crossword puzzles, flash cards, and memory games, student’s are able to process the new information more readily. Once the skill is comprehended by the student, there will be more confidence instilled and less frustration displayed. I have worked in mostly elentary schools for over 30 years (mostly as a Scool Psychologist) and have tutored children with learning difficulties, attention problems, and lack of self-esteem. It is my personal goal to enable each and every child the tools to become successful in school and to generalize this learning into society.
